Not everyone knows that there was a third in the original ownership of Heirloom Precision. The company was set up by Ted Yost, Jason Burton, and Steve Bailey in 2007. Steve worked full time as a Sheriff Deputy and moonlighted in the shop building fine custom 1911’s. As Steve’s LE career grew, his time in the shop dwindled, and he would eventually sell his share of the company to Jason Burton when Ted also sold his share and opened his own shop in 2015. Steve’s guns come up very rarely, and are very nicely built fit and finished, as all those at HP had very high standards for work. This 1978 Commander is a full house effort with complete detailing, Kart NM barrel, Gold line sight with Yost Retro rear, even accurails to refit frame to slide. This gun remains in very high condition with minor wear from handling. Comes complete with build sheet, the grip/s on the build sheet have been replaced with a beautiful set of highly figured English Walnut.
