A wonderful example from the bench of late master Jim Garthwaite, this build was completed just 3 months before Jim’s passing in 2020. Jim owned and operated Jim Garthwaite Pistolsmith, Inc. in Watsontown PA since 1977.  He was a founding member of the American Tactical Shooting Association, a member of the American Pistolsmith’s Guild, and was named Pistolsmith of the year in 2004.  This 1911 is the pinnacle of Jim’s craft, built on a great base gun. The base gun is a Colt Custom Shop WWI repro, which have a classic M1911 look and markings. This is a very complete offering, with Jim’s test target, build sheet and invoice. This gun wears a beautiful set of Elephant Ivory grips, comes with Jim’s box. Gun has been shot very little since delivery and looks great. Jim’s perfect checkering on the rear of the slide and front and rear of frame. Also look at the beautiful custom gold bead front sight. Gun comes with Jim’s paperwork, target, box and one mag.
