Mountain of work in this mini 1911 folks. Donald Cassavant was a very accomplished man, from flying cargo planes in WWII Asian theater, to teaching High School Industrial Arts, to crafting custom guns in the evenings. This Bobcat was chopped and built on an Essex frame and a Colt 1911 slide, the 3.75” barrel and slightly shorter than Detonics grip makes for a truly pockeatble 1911. Barrel is a welded up and refit Colt unit, bushing is a custom shop-made thread in arrangement. The frame to slide is nicely fit, Don was also a hand engraver, and his embellishments can be seen on this slide. Custom ramped front sight with a low-mounted Micro rear sight with checkered rear face. The front strap and back are checkered as is the front of the forged square trigger guard. Note the fully custom, one-of mainspring housing. Gun comes with 2 mags, a flush fit with original owners name on it and a full length one with a custom wood grip extension on it.
