1989 Springfield Armory - Gunsite GSP Custom - Unmarked
The Gunsite Service Pistol, was Col Jeff Cooper’s vision for the perfect combat auto. Classic rendition of everything you need and nothing you don’t. It should be noted, this gun is not marked with the large GSP etch or the Raven, but I do fully believe it to be a Gunsmithy job. I showed pictures of it to Ted Yost, he said there was occasionally someone that asked for the GSP package but did not want the GSP logo, he didn’t recall any this sterile but said it sure looks like a GSP to him. Comparing the tang work, the hammer work against a Yost Bonitz gun here in the shop, its clearly in the same family tree. Also the parts used are the same as other GSP’s I have had. The Hi viz rear sight, fully dehorned and the MMC front sight. Kings Thumb safety nicely softened. Short match trigger, internals nicely tuned, gun nicely softened. This pistol shows some carry wear, but remains very nice, and is pretty snug yet! Comes as shown with one mag.
