This late-production Colt Combat Commander was very nicely re-worked by The Metal-Master, Pete Single. Pete is one of the finest 1911 wrenches in the business, world famous for his pioneering work in custom machine checkering. Pete has literal truckloads of 1911 frames thru his shop in the Baltimore area, doing custom machine work for not only clients, and other pistolsmiths, but many thousands of frames for Colt in the past 20 years. Pete is a literal encyclopedia on the whats, whys and whos of custom 1911’s. This gun was thru his shop in 2023, with the following work done.
