1959 Ruger Flat Top Blackhawk -- Custom 44 Special
This revolver left Ruger in 1959, as a Blackhawk Flat Top 357 Magnum, and as was common since the introduction of this model, a gunsmith converted this sixgun to 44 Special, frame not re-marked. The work is unmarked, appears to be a custom barrel. The gun was also fit with a custom front sight, XR3RED gripframe and faux ivory grips. I shot a cylinder of 200 grainers and they seemed to shoot well, albeit a bit low to the sights (probably set up for a 240-250 grain bullet). Neat old sixgun, with a popular custom job on it.
