Richard Heinie Full House Custom Colt 1911 -- COMP GUN -- 45 ACP -- #RH24
Outstanding piece of Pistolsmithing history here. This early (#24) Richard Heinie custom Colt started life in 1978 when it left Hartford, Richard got ahold of it shortly thereafter and built it into a great combat custom 45 in 1979, then in 1980 he had it in the shop again for the fitting of the AMU Slatgroove slide it wears today. At some point thereafter RH traded this gun back in , and later in the 80s likely fit the comp/barrel for his personal use, this gun remained in his collection until very recently.
Astute observers will see this gun and immediately think of the famous Miami Vice Richard Heinie Custom Compgun, built nearly identical to this one. the TV gun was built on a Stainless 80 Series gun however. We all know 2-tone is way cooler! That Compgun graced an American Handgunner cover in 1986, and was featured in season 3 of Miami Vice.
This gun has great visual appeal, great execution, and remains in really good shape for a gun RH surely competed with some. Light idiot scratch and handling/holster wear. Comes as shown with scans of RH’s records, one mag and Heinie bag.
