This is a Rare Lew Horton Colt Lieutenant Commander (1 of 800 MFG in 1985), that was really nicely upgraded by one of the best of his generation, Jim Hoag. This Colt was likely built by Jim sometime between 1986 and the 90s when he largely stopped marking his work. The pistol has his signature checkering on it, as well as his signature low-slung Bomar rear sight, ramped front sight and flat-top and serrate work. He also did a superb trigger job on this Colt, with 80 series parts in-tact. Nicely softened Kings Gun Works Combat Safety. The mainspring housing was upgraded to a Pachmayr unit, nicely beveled magwell as well. Jim fit a Barsto Match barrel to the Colt to finish it out, sure to be an accurate, light carry gun! Topped with beautiful figured Eagle grips. Gun looks to have been very very lightly used after the work.
