This 1968 Commander went thru Armand’s Gardena shop sometime in the very early 70s, note Armand fit a Combat Commander slide to this frame. This pistol is not marked AD Swenson, but all the work done is indicative of his work, and on a build he did not refinish, it was not unheard of for them not to be marked.

From the Top:

-Classic Swenson K frame S&W Rear sight install with serrated dovetail filler

-Serrated ramped front sight brazed and staked

-Sleeved barrel bushing, refit

-Barrel welded up and refit, with positioner soldered in upper lug, polished and throated for reliability

-Frame to slide refit, tight and smooth, polished rails

-Long trigger fit with OT stop, and swaged to fit frame better

-Tune ignition parts

-Extractor tuned and polished

-Custom extended thumb safety, note this is marked with customer’s last name as was common for Swenson “Grand” matching the G on the rear sight shear pin.

-USGI MSH fit, backside polished, drilled for pin, if user wanted a pinned grip safety.

This gun is a great example of a basic carry gun build out by Armand, and remains in super nice condition for a carry gun. Pistol will ship with one mag as shown.
