A truly outstanding example from the Pachmayr Gun Works shop. They were one of the premier Gunmaker Suite’s in the USA for nearly 50 years. This example is a unique one, built on a 1976 Colt Gold Cup, it has their Signature conversion done to it, but with some clearly ‘combat centric’ options added. This gun is in wonderful full chrome finish, and in great condition with minor wear, but not a gun that was shot heavily in my opinion. The Signature package was super unique, designed to accurize 1911’s in a way never before done, it really reveals that these men understood what made these guns shoot well. Though superseded by the Combat Special, the Signature was a huge stepping stone in the history of Pachmayr’s customization of the 1911 pistol. This gun has a Kings thumb safety, beveled magwell, Colt rear sight welded up and a low slung, nicely beveled Bomar inset. Red ramp front sight and of course the Messerschmidt bushing system and slide tensioning yoke. This gun is tight and right and a must-have for any significant Custom 1911 collection.
