Clearly a very special gun, built by Springfield Armory Custom shop in late 1990, This gun shipped to Martin B Rettig’s famous shop in Cali to transfer to the person that ordered it. I do not have any more info other than this is the most wild and full of handwork I have ever seen on a SACS Custom build.

This 38 Super has a 2-port comp mounted to a Barsto Barrel, slide top serrated, Bomar sight, Custom wide ambi safety, awesome sculpted beavertail grip safety. Not to mention the 3 acres of finely cut and sharp checkering. The Dustcover and slide stop checkered to give traction to the weak hand, trigger guard fully squared off and checkered, front and back strap checkered including a high cut and wrap of the checkering on to the back of the frame! This gun is buttery smooth and well put together. Sad to say this gun looks to have never competed, very minimal signs of use in this girl. Tons of great work! Buying this gun is as good as having a time machine and going back to 1990 and ordering the best race gun SACS could produce.
