2001 Wilson Combat KZ45 -- Double Stack -- 45 ACP
The Wilson KZ45 was Bill Wilson’s first big foray into a double stack pistol, rolled out in late 90s, with production really starting in 2000. It aimed to modernize the platform by incorporating a lightweight polymer frame reinforced with stainless steel and Kevlar, reducing unloaded weight to about 31 ounces (compared to 38 ounces for a standard steel 1911) while maintaining the familiar 1911 ergonomics and controls. This design featured a stainless steel insert for critical areas like pins, barrel lockup, and the feed ramp, ensuring durability. Chambered in .45 ACP, it was a double-stack configuration, offering a 10-round magazine capacity (plus one in the chamber for 11 total rounds). The grip was thinner than a standard 1911 but somewhat blocky, very similar in feel to the new Wilson SFT, and the pistol fit standard 1911 holsters. This one is Nearly new in bag, comes with 2 Wilson mags, paperwork and test target.
