The Nowlin family is one of the oldest names in custom 1911 components and gunsmithing. John Nowlin SR opened his shop in Oklahoma in the early 80s. He worked over guns for many and by the 90’s he expanded and brought on a couple more smiths to roll out his line of custom 1911’s, this Match Classic model is one of them. Built in 1998, this one is chambered for the relatively new at the time 9×23 Winchester, designed to be a new, more potent 38 Super. On that note I did test fire this gun with 38 Super and it ran without issue, as many 9×23’s will. This gun has light finish wear but remains tight and smooth. A great carry or competitive gun. Comes as shown with all the original paperwork, including original customer’s registration from California! 2 Mags and original box.
