Outstanding David Clay Custom Marlin 1894 — 44 Magnum — 98026877

Super nice custom Marlin by Levergun master David Clay out of Texas.  Clay has worked in guns for over 40 years and seems to only offer finishing work these days.  This Marlin 1894 has been fully reworked.  Top drawer, and thoughtful work from butt to muzzle.  The thoughtful carry beveling is something so rarely seen on long gun, the way the action feels has to be felt to truly appreciate.  Lots of custom touches throughout, and undoubtedly some easter eggs I have missed, From the top:

-Custom Tapered Stainless Ocatgon barrel, Chambered for 44 Magnum, finished at 19″

-Ashley Express sights, note the custom inset of the rear, complete with custom windage adjustment capability

-Forend glass bedded

-Custom Mag tube follower

-Barrel and action beautifully beveled for carry/use

-DRC Gloved hand enlarged lever loop

-DRC Custom Trigger, pull set at crisp 2.25#

-WWG Ejector

-Action beautifully smoothed

-Stock fit with a 1″ Pachmayr recoil pad, LOP = 13.375″

Dave’s work is highly regarded, and rarely comes to market, this levergun is bound to make me feel some regreat once it goes.
