Extremely rare opportunity here, Archibald Brinkerhoff Custom Colt.  Brinkerhoff operated in the 1930’s in Los Angeles California, very near to the the WH Hoegee Co that ordered this Colt new in 1932, just 3 years after the Super 38 was introduced.  AR Brinkerhoff was one of the very earliest to customize the Colt 1911 pattern pistols, and certainly one of the most radical.  His signature grip modifications seen on this gun are seriously a wild reimagination of the 1911 frame.  The effort put into this modification is immense, cutting, welding, and reimagining entirely how the gun works.  He patented 2 parts which are present in this Colt, the Torsion hammer spring and the recoil buffer guide rod.  The Gun is cut, shaped, welded, dressed, and re-stocked to much more closely mimic a Colt Revolver in hand feel for the one-handed shooting done at the time.  This gun comes as shown with one original AB Mag, the catalin? grips and Colt letter.  See the old article written about Brinkerhoff.  I estimate there are likely just a handful of these still in existence, I am only aware of 3, and this is the only Super 38 Brinkerhoff I have ever seen.
