These Pre War S&W’s are always special guns to get to handle, the Outdoorsman is probably close to the top of the heap for my taste. These Heavy Duty ‘38/44’ guns just have a timeless look and feel to them. This one has a Patridge front sight and wears some great vintage Target grips (Sanderson?) and a most of its original bluing. This gun has been enjoyed and shot but overall the gun is smooth and has held up very nicely. The action is outstanding, the bore and chambers bright and clean. Cool Serial number on this one too #54444 If you ever wanted an outdoorsman to shoot and enjoy this one will be tough to beat. Fewer pre-war Outdoorsmen were MFG than Registered Mag’s so they are tough to find in unmolested condition like this!
